Share Your Victories

The focus of the Action Mail newsletter has always been to provide you the tools and motivation to embrace life's plentiful opportunities and create your very own vision of success. I truly believe you can do more, be more, and serve others to a greater degree than you can presently imagine. That's because your potential is infinite.

That's right. You will never reach your full potential because, regardless of where you are in life or what you have achieved, there will always be a grander possibility out there- one that will entice you, seduce you, and inspire you to continue forward. Almost immediately after we attain a goal, we find ourselves asking “what's next?” As we expand our capabilities, the unending opportunities to learn, grow, and love become clearer. But before you “move on,”

give your accomplishments greater meaning: Share your victories!

When you achieve a significant personal victory or an important goal, it is rarely, if ever, solely due to your own efforts. I would venture to say that every landmark life event involves dozens of others in direct and indirect ways- individuals who have guided and shaped your efforts along the way. Some are well aware of the assistance they have given you. Others will never know the important role they played in your unfolding success story. It's up to you to sing their praises and express your gratitude for the help they provided. Let them know that, from the vantage point of your moment of triumph, they have made a lasting and meaningful impact.

Time for Action

  1. Savor the Moment - Take a deep breath and feel the victory! You did it! After all your efforts, anxieties, set backs, and incremental progress, you have accomplished what you set out to achieve. Congratulations!
  2. Sidestep Self Praise - As much as you might want to think it's about you, it's really not. You are driven by the examples and encouragement of others. You have been guided every step of the way by people who provided insights, feedback, resistance, challenges, and gifts of their own time and talents. Step back and recognize the expansive team behind the victory.
  3. Salute Your Supporters - Take time out to say thank you to those who have helped. When you do, you not only provide much deserved recognition by validating the efforts of your advocates, but you also increase the significance of your achievement, expand your sense of community, and build momentum toward the attainment of future victories.

Thank you all for your extraordinary encouragement and for the absolute privilege to be a part of your personal and professional journey. Your presence and feedback continue to provide the premium fuel that makes it possible to go farther, faster and reach meaningful landmarks in my life. I share all victories with YOU!

With gratitude,

Dan

P.S. This message takes on a very personal and timely significance to me. We are in “celebration mode” here, as my much anticipated book, Success in Action , has finally arrived! It would not have been possible without the coordinated efforts of many talented people, the input of dear friends and mentors, or the encouragement of audiences and clients who helped me refine the material contained in this book. The final product is terrific, and I am eager to share it with you. That will come in another message, though. First I wanted to simply express these thoughts, in the hopes they will make you smile and consider the significance of your actions and the scope of your influence.
